“Admitted” wins Special Jury Award (Critics Choice) for Best Documentary Film at RIFF 2019 Jaipur !

Admitted (documentary) wins - Special Jury Award (Critics Choice) for Best Documentary Film at the 5th RIFF Jaipur - Rajasthan International Film Festival 2019, held in Jaipur during 19th to 23rd January 2019.

Admitted, is a feature length narrative documentary which is 'A striking uprising journey of 5 decades to become the 1st Transgender student of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Based on the true life of Dhananjay Chauhan, the film has been directed by Ojaswwee Sharma, known for Zubaan, The Last Date, Badalti Soch, Lucky Kabootar.

The film strongly unearths advocacy of transgender rights and right to education through Dhananjay's personal life (biography) as striving for education to a social activist.
The film has been shot entirely in Chandigarh, and is a matter of pride for the City Beautiful as the subject has rightly caught the eyes of serious cinephiles, across international film festivals.

The film has garnered 8 Official Selections and 2 Awards till date, having being official part of film festivals such as NFDC Goa, Jagran Film Festival, Bioscope, across India, USA and Australia till date, & having received a special mention from the hon'ble High Commission Of Canada in India.

The award was given in the presence of Smt. Jaya Prada ( Actor and Politician), Ram Kamal Mukherjee (Former Editor, Stardust Magazine), Sushant Singh ( Film Actor), Kamal Kumar Barjatiya (Rajshri Productions), Nandita Puri, Suzanne Bernett, Somendra Harsh and Anshu Harsh (Festival Directors) and many more present during the award night held on 23rd January 2019.
